This site started life as a wall in my hallway - completely covered with framed postcards of UK Piers. The collection itself had its beginings in postacard images of Isle of Wight piers collected whilst on holiday to remind myself of my childhood years, growing up on 'the Island', when every journey to the mainland started with a walk down Ryde Pier.

Living in Clevedon during the 1980's, with its beautiful pier in ruins, rekindled my interest in these seaward structures and I became involved, in a very small way, with the restoration and reopening of Clevedon Pier.

Along the way I continued to collect postcards of piers until I ran out of wall space and the hallway needed redecoration . . . . . . and 'declutering'. The process prompted a total rethink and the result is a few family photographs on the hall wall and this site.

Details of the piers included here have been obtained from various sources. They are not exhaustive and I apolgise in advance for any errors or omission. If you would like to make contact, or contribute, please e-mail me.
